Great results on Election Day 2025. Virginia is not only blue again, it is even more blue. Abigail Spanberger is our Governor-elect, and Virginia's first woman governor, with Ghazala Hashmi as Lt. Governor, the first Muslim to hold the office. Jay Jones is the Attorney General-elect. Democrats not only held on to the majority in the Virginia House of Delegates, they now have a super majority. 64 seats to the Republicans 36. Even the usually deep red Spotsylvania County turned blue. People are pissed off by Trump's cuts to the government and the long shutdown. It wasn't just Virginia. New Jersey had similar results, with a new Democratic Governor. And a Muslim Democratic Socialist was elected the Mayor of New York City! I don't think Trump is sleeping well tonight.
I have a bunch of photos from my New York trip and Halloween to post. It was a nice little trip. Katie is already planning our next trip- Williamsburg around Christmas! Sam and Devon have found their wedding venue and have set a date. Late September, which means we'll miss Oktoberfest, but the church has plenty of volunteers. They'll be fine!
