I had a very last-minute adventure yesterday! Katie and her friends Regi and Linda had tickets to see the 5th Dimension in Richmond last night.
A couple of hours before Katie had to leave, Linda had to cancel because she was sick. First Katie offered the extra ticket to our mom, a big fan of the group. Mom was too tired, so I got to go instead! The concert was at a Richmond bar/concert venue called The Tin Pan. We had dinner and drinks and got to hear some great music. Of course, the singers aren't all from the original group. Florence LaRue is the last original member, and at 81, she's still going strong! They did several of their hits and other songs, and ended the show with probably their two biggest- Up, Up and Away and Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In. The last part became a sing a long! Ms. LaRue also told some background stories about the music and a few updates on the still living members of the original group.
The 5th Dimension!
It was pretty late after the concert, so I stayed at Katie's house overnight. Maisie was so happy to see me! She jumped on me and would not stop licking me. Today, she took a nap on my lap. I love that silly girl.
I didn't sleep well last night. I had a migraine during the car ride to Richmond. Fortunately, it was gone before the concert began, but it came back just before I went to bed. I'm exhausted before the weekend actually starts!
Next Thursday I have a virtual follow-up with my oncologist. After much miscommunication, the CD of my scans finally arrived at his office. Doesn't sound like there are any problems, if he only wants to do the follow-up by video! Still, I always get a little nervous...
