A mass shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, 30 miles or so from San Antonio. At least 27 are dead (some sources are saying 30) and a dozen injured, including children. The shooter just walked in during services and started shooting. He was killed after he tried to run away. No idea about a motive, but at this point, does it even matter? It's the deadliest shooting at a house of worship in modern history. So two of the deadliest mass shootings in modern Amercan history happened within 35 days. But some will still say that "it's not the right time" to discuss gun violence and how to deal with it. WHEN will be a good time?
My dad pointed out that if this had happened at St. Paul's, it would have wiped out most of the congregation. Just some personal perspective. I feel sick.
