Black Knight #1 was worth the wait.

Poor Dane is stuck in Weirdworld, where "even the birds and bees want to whack you". He's taken over a small kingdom here, and has people to rule! He and his new subjects have to fight all kinds of nasty creatures and bad guys (Fire breathing rock trolls! Slimy flying lizards! Big serpent men!). Also, all kinds of crap from Earth 616 manages to land here. Dane has a room full of interesting things. And the Uncanny Avengers are after him, with the Black Knight/Ebony Blade historian from Original Sins #2 in tow. I'm starting to wonder if they're just worried about him because of her book, and Dane has gotten so paranoid and addicted to the blade that he wants to fight them. He thinks he can never go home...even if he wants to. A solid start. I think this is going to be a fun book.

King Dane. ROTFLMAO. I don't think he's too happy about his new role. And those red eyes...last time he had eyes like that, he had that forced "Gann Josin" bond with Sersi. Also, Dane is a lot rougher around the edges, and it's not just the new armor. He's really not the lovable dork from the 80s Avengers anymore. I can't wait to see where writer Frank Tieri is going with all this.
