Interesting family history...

I’ve been looking forward to the Wolf Hall miniseries that airs on PBS in April (already airing in the UK). I haven’t read the books„ but I’ve always been interested in Tudor history. My mother has been doing some genealogy research about my dad’s side of the family, and she’s traced it back to that era. One of my ancestors was Richard Rich (spelled Riche in the novel). He was one of the most evil men of the Tudor era! Yikes!

From the article:

Since the mid-sixteenth century Rich has had a highly negative reputation for immorality, financial dishonesty, double dealing, perjury and treachery that is seldom matched in all of English history. The historian Hugh Trevor-Roper dismissed Rich as a man “of whom nobody has ever spoken a good word”.

Wow.

As a side note, in Wolf Hall, Rich is played by Bryan Dick. So Bryan is playing my great-great-something grandpa. :p

Hmmm, it's been a while since I used the Bryan as Blythe icon.
