This is what my sister posted on Facebook today:
On this day, 100 years ago, my Granddaddy, Rev. Rual T. Perkins was born. It's hard to believe he's been gone 9 years now. This also happens to be the 100th anniversary of the day England declared war on Germany. That must have been strange, sharing a bday with such a terrible event. As you can see from the photo, he served in WWII (chaplain).

Kind of like being born the day Kennedy was assassinated, or the 9/11 attacks. I'd hate to have that kind of day.
I still miss my granddaddy and Great-Aunt Audrey, who died the same month he did. :(
Rory had to go to the vet today, and he was not happy. He didn't just cry on the way- he YOWLED. It was heartbreaking! But he was good once we got there:
