Anthem won't cover my upcoming hernia repair surgery. They claim it's not "medically necessary." The hell it isn't. My appeal is already in motion. The surgeon and hospital billing office are working on it. Also, the letter I got today said the surgeon mentioned "full hospitalization," meaning that he now expects there to be complications, and it won't be outpatient after all. My surgery is three weeks from today. I hope the appeal works. Fuck the American health care system. 😢
