I spent the weekend at Katie's house. We went to her Rotary Club's "Great Wine Out" event. We had a great time! There was a good band, a fantastic grazing table, and plenty of wine!

It was at the Back Porch Vineyards. Very nice spot.

The venue, my wine tasting flight, the charcuterie and other goodies.

I really enjoyed going out and doing something fun. After my surgery, I
didn't get to do much, except for the Skyline Drive day trip,

Sad national news- former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has died at the age of 96. She was the first First Lady I was able to remember from my childhood. Sadly, former President Jimmy Carter will likely follow her soon. It will be a sad day when both of them are gone.

Today in history, November 22nd: 60 years ago, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. I obviously wasn't alive at the time, but my mom had just arrived in West Germany to join my dad. Katie was three months old. Mom had never left the country before, and there she was in Germany with a brand new baby, getting used to Dad being gone a lot, missing her parents...and then the President was assassinated. I can't imagine how awful it must have been. Closest things for my generation are the Challenger disaster and 9/11.
