Sunday was the concert at Epcot. But first, we had brunch at the hotel. Brunch is always a good idea. And brunch is even better with the famous Mickey waffles!
They weren't just cute. They were delicious. I had seconds and I rarely do that with waffles!
First glimpse of the parks- the Skyliner. I wish we'd had time to ride.
The concert venue:
The concert went well. We had a special guest conductor- Mickey Mouse!
There was a four hour break between the concert and the fireworks. Not a lot of time to explore Epcot, plus it was dark. Katie and I went to different pavilions for dinner- she went to Germany (and was disappointed), and I went to France. I had a ham and cheese croissant for dinner and a Napoleon for dessert. Yummy. I would have enjoyed Epcot more in the daytime. It was too dark to see much. But Spaceship Earth was awesome. It has special lighting for the 50th anniversary.
And then- fireworks! Disney World knows how to do a show.
The park was decked out for the holidays. A giant tree near the Canada pavilion, a large Spode teapot and charming shop displays in the UK pavilion, and big ornaments in the French pavilion.
I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the Mexico pavilion, but I loved it. It reminded me of the old Casa Bonita restaurant- only much nicer. I went on the Grand Fiesta Tour boat ride. It was so cute and fun.
That's about it for Sunday. Katie and I were both so tired! We slept in a bit on Monday, but still had plenty of time at the Magic Kingdom.
Overall, Sunday was good. I wish more people had attended the concert. And I wish we'd had more time in Epcot.
