I went on an apple picking excursion with Mom and Dad yesterday. We also went to Shenandoah National Park to drive on Skyline Drive. It was a perfect fall day, and the leaves were about at their peak color.

We went to two different orchards. This one is Stribling:

I got one! The best apples were way at the top. But we managed to get some good ones.

The other orchard was Hartland. They had pumpkins as well as apples:

Skyline Drive is beautiful this time of year:

100 feet into the park, a bear cub dashed in front of the car. My mom HATES bears, so she was not amused. Fortunately, Mama Bear was nowhere in sight! We also almost hit a coyote on the way out of the park.
We had a great dinner at Skyline Resort Lodge. A nice end to a great day out!
